Wildflower Park Centennial Legacy Mosaics
The Wildflower Park Centennial Legacy Mosaics celebrate Boca Raton’s Centennial by weaving together history, community voices, and our coastal landscape. Symbols like oars, rafts, bicycles, and native fruits reflect how the community continues to enjoy and navigate its waterways and neighborhoods.
Facing the Intracoastal, the Northwest wall depicts Boca Raton’s evolution from an early 20th-century agricultural community to a vibrant South Florida destination, featuring tropical crops like pineapples and mangoes.
Facing the Palmetto Park Road Bridge, the Southeast wall features still-life compositions inspired by meaningful community contributions. One element pays tribute to early local Harley Gates and his daughter, Imogene, recalling a swing he once hung between two palmettos.
The east and west walls continue the story with local crops and architectural breeze blocks from nearby neighborhoods, uniting all the murals and connecting them to the City at large. Together, they invite visitors to reflect on the Wildflower Park’s connection between past and present.
